Virtual tour of Perak

IPOH: Multimedia services bureau Minat Saujana Sdn Bhd has unveiled a CD-ROM depicting the history and culture of Perak, plus a list of popular tourist sites.

Perak: Land of Grace took Minat Saujana executive director Tony Tang three months to complete.

Armed with a camera and notebook, he visited all the places of interest in the state to validate and record down important data, and update outdated information.

"Our main business is in converting text into digital form, and we worked on the tourism CD as it would be useful to introduce people to our state," said Tang.

"The value to our customers is the amount of data that can be stored in digital format," he said, adding that production costs were also lower.

The company has also produced CDs for Taiping Municipal Council, Mariwasa Pewters and Ipoh Town Council. Its activities have received the support of the State Development Corporation and the State Economic Planning Unit.

The Perak: Land of Grace CD-ROM retails at RM30 and runs on Windows 95.
