BizTone touts Net-based ERMKUALA LUMPUR: BizTone Sdn Bhd has launched BizTone Financials 1.1, its enterprise resource management (ERM) software suite which runs over the Internet.
According to BizTone, the software will be delivered as a service over the Internet; in essence, customers would "rent" the software and be charged on a per-transaction basis.
The suite consists of general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, project costing, system administration and master control data.
BizTone CEO Darryl Carlton said the suite is written in Java and will work on various platforms.
Users only need a Java-enabled web browser or a Java Virtual Machine to run the suite, he said.
Carlton also claims that companies can save on ERM costs and reduce the time needed for maintenance and configuration by implementing the system.
As an example, Carlton said a medium-sized company would only have to pay between RM4,000 to RM6,000 per month to use the system, versus tens of thousands or even millions per month for other ERM solutions.
Carlton also said the company is negotiating with various companies in the United States that are planning to provide Net-based services.
However, he concedes that a company would need to have an Internet connection to use the system, and that would add to the final costs.
"But companies have to get hooked up to the Internet anyway to enable e-commerce and communications," he added.
Another advantage in using BizTone Financials is that companies with branch operations can easily consolidate and update their data, Carlton said.
Biztone is an MSC-status company and was previously called Datek Sdn Bhd.
